The original Dante opened in 1915 as a meeting house for Italian immigrants in New York City, so by the time the current owners came in 2015 it had a foundation of 100 years of history behind it, which in itself is unique. Since taking over the space, the crew have stayed true to Dante’s Italian heritage, embracing its role as a community gathering place.
Cargo Crew have been thrilled to dress Dante, in bustling New York City, from the time Nathalie Hudson and her team took over the iconic bar in 2015.
The Dante team continues the over 100-year tradition of Italian heritage by celebrating authenticity in everything they offer their customers. Including the detailing of interiors and uniforms that nod to the classic history of the venue while not forgoing a modern bar experience.
The Dante team required a modern solution for their award-winning bartenders. To create a sophisticated and cohesive look they wear our classic Deluxe Canvas Bib Apron in Navy. This protects and elevates the entire team:
Dante won the world's best bar in 2019!
"Celebrating authenticity whilst continuing to strive for innovation, our cocktail menu explores the tradition of aperitivo - a slower-style of drinking that New Yorkers have come to love - as well as deep-dives into variations of classic aperitifs, such as our Negroni Sessions menu that features a dozen takes on the cocktail. The history of the space, the community-focused and welcoming environment, and our focus on aperitivo (which was little-known to New Yorkers when we first opened), is what makes Dante stand out from other New York cocktail bars."
